JR Farms Join Kwara Government to Host French Partners on Agro-Pasteurization

In 2021, the Kwara government launched a ten-year agriculture transformation plan which was drafted by JR Farms for the Kwara State Government- at the center of this plan is livestock development in Kwara state.

As part of the implementation process for the 10-year Agricultural Transformation Plan, JR Farms in its capacity as consulting firm for the Kwara State project, our CEO, Olawale Rotimi Opeyemi, joined Kwara's Government Technical Assistant on Agriculture in receiving the French partners from France on their inaugural visit to the Agro- Pasteurization Project in Kwara focused on developing pastures for livestock farmers to improve their productivity and eliminate the grazing-induced farmers-herders crisis. Their visit included trips to grazing zones and meetings with stakeholders, including herders, crop farmers, and relevant government ministries, among others.

During their visit, they met up with herders of the Miyetti Allah group at the 20,000 hectares grazing zone in Kwara; over 5,000 herders with their families live within the grazing zone. Moreover, as part of the process of designing the implementation model for the pasteurization project by the French partners, discussions focused on improving pasture for sustainable grazing within the ecosystem of the grazing zone. JR Farms is glad to work with the Government of Kwara and its French counterpart as local partners toward successfully implementing this initiative.
